I remember when I first met Simon at a dinner party at our mutual friend Nick Edgley’s place. I was struck by his warmth and honesty and the fact that he immediatejy took the piss out of me when he discovered I had gone to a ‘public school’. It was an instant ‘Bro’-mance that often prompted my usual response to one of Nick’s dinner party invitations - “Will Simon be there”?? A dinner oarty was a much more riotous debauched experience when Simon was sitting across the table from me. So I grew to love this man for many reasons but a key element that cemented our bond was our love of music. I think Si always seemed happiest when he was playing a blues solo on his PRS guitar and that is how I will remember him. I am attaching a photo of the last time that we were together. It was a beautiful warm day last September. We had a barbie and then hit our guitars while Joel hit the drums. Simon played his heart out that day in my rooftop studio and although I no longer have my buddy by my side I will always have that memory. Rest in peace my dear friend. I miss you. Stu. X
